Alberta has launched the Foreign Graduate Start-Up Visa Stream
On January 28, 2021, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has started the Foreign Graduate Start-Up Visa Stream (FGSVS). This program targets talented international graduates to launch businesses in Alberta. To be eligible for this stream, entrepreneurs must secure a letter of recommendation from an AINP-approved designated agency, own at least 34% of the business if it is located in an urban centre or a minimum of 51% ownership if located outside Calgary and Edmonton. The minimum investment required for an urban centre is $100,000 or $50,000 outside Calgary and Edmonton.
