Canada is home to about 1.5 million Muslims
About 1.5 million of the Islamic faith are Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Muslims constitute around 4% of the total country’s population, which makes the followers of Isalm the second largest religion in Canada.
In addition, Muslim Canadians are also the fastest-growing segment of Canadians. According to Statistics Canada, the vast majority of Muslims are immigrants, but the share of Canadian-born Muslims is growing, including those who converted to Islam.
Most Muslim Canadians reside in the Greater Toronto and Greater Montreal areas and are the majority of them belong to middle-class and well educated with considerable grades of financial literacy.
It is estimated that the number of Canadian Muslims will double in the next decade.
