In November 2019, Canada approved and issued study permits to 12,710 international students.
Ontario was a destination of 5,715 new study permits holders. 2,885 foreign students went to British Columbia; 2,100 international students began their programs in Quebec;
Alberta welcomed 685 international students; Manitoba admitted 450; Nova Scotia again accepted more students than Saskatchewan – 255 compared to 215;
New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador accepted 130, 80, and 70 international students, respectively;
5 students went to Yukon. Another 120 students did not specify their province of study. As of November 30, 2019, Canada issued 355,245 study permits.
