IRCC released special instructions during COVID-19

On March 15, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) published operational bulletin 669: Novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This document provides special processing instructions for permanent residence, temporary residence, and citizenship applications.

These instructions have been created to inform IRCC and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) staff on the procedures for new and existing Study Permit, Work Permit, Temporary Resident Visas, and permanent residence applications that are affected by the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

In addition, on March 14, 2020, IRCC cancelled all citizenship ceremonies and citizenship tests until further notice in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
