Quebec maintains a very high immigrant retention level

According to the Quebec Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) Nadine Girault, more than 90% of the immigrants who settled in Quebec since 2011 were still in the province in December 2020. Such high numbers are evidence that Quebec offers its newcomers the opportunity to develop and participate fully in collective life. The population with immigrant status in Quebec stood at 37,340 people, or 7.2% of the population, according to 2016 census data.
