The government of Canada announced new initiatives for racialized newcomer women

On August 11, 2021, the Government of Canada announced new initiatives of the Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot that helps racialized newcomer women defeat barriers such as gender and race-based discrimination, and find good, well-paying jobs to succeed in the country. As announced in the Budget 2021, the Government invested $15 million in this important Pilot. In Canada, racialized newcomer women possess the lowest annual income of all newcomer groups, and the Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot launched as the Visible Minority Newcomer Women Project in December 2018, spent over $31.9 million during 3 years to support the employment and career advancement of racialized newcomer women.
